Northern Counties’ Signing Choir Perform for NatWest

Our Signing Choir recently had the incredible opportunity to perform for the team as part of their Go For It challenge!

This challenge is part of a four year initiative to celebrate NatWest’s proud partnership with Team GB and Paralympics GB, where hundreds of team members ran, hiked, cycled, abseiled, rowed and white water rafted to carry the baton thousands of miles across the country to raise money for local charities.

Our choir were very excited to celebrate and cheer on the NatWest team by performing a variety of songs, which were an absolute hit with attendees.

Learners were also delighted to meet Olympic medallist Bruce Mouat and enjoyed the unique opportunity to see and hold his medals up close. Many were surprised by just how heavy they were!

The students joined Bruce in cheering on the NatWest team as they ran past, creating a fantastic atmosphere filled with excitement and encouragement. They also enjoyed some specially themed purple ice creams and proudly waved their flags throughout the event.

It was a truly special day for our learners. The warm welcome and kindness shown by the NatWest team helped make the experience unforgettable, leaving students feeling valued, included and celebrated.

Here’s what the NatWest team had to say about our choir’s fantastic performance:

“What a credit to the school and their families the choir are.”

“You should all be so proud of the pupils and staff! Absolutely fantastic!”

“All of the children have certainly encouraged me to look at learning sign language, they really are a credit to you all.”

Thank you to NatWest for inviting our choir to take part!
