Pride Celebrations at Northern Counties 2026

We love celebrating Pride Month at Northern Counties, and each year we mark the occasion with a range of activities, workshops and performances that encourage self-expression, celebrate diversity and recognise the importance of individuality, creativity and the freedom to be yourself.

Last week, the whole school came together to take part in a variety of exciting Pride-themed events and activities, creating opportunities for students and staff to learn, celebrate and have fun together.

We kicked off our Pride celebrations with an incredible drag performance delivered in partnership with and the talented drag artist Sweetboy. The vibrant and engaging performance was a huge hit with our students! Our learners then designed their own masks, showcasing their creativity. It was a fantastic way to set the tone for the week.

The celebrations continued throughout the week with a series of engaging drama workshops delivered in partnership with . These energetic sessions encouraged students to get involved, build confidence and express themselves through movement, creativity and performance.

Students also took part in a range of colourful arts and crafts activities, designing Pride flags and banners. There was plenty of imagination on display, with paint, colour and glitter helping to bring our celebrations to life and making the school feel even brighter throughout the week.

We rounded off the week in style with a vibrant fashion show, followed by a Pride Parade to Exhibition Park.

Students proudly carried and waved the colourful flags they had designed earlier in the week as they made their way to the park.

The parade provided an excellent finale to a week of activities that encouraged everyone to celebrate what makes them unique.

Our students and staff had an incredible week celebrating diversity, creativity and inclusion, creating lasting memories and showcasing the welcoming and supportive spirit of Northern Counties.

Happy Pride Month!
